It's a beast—heavy, and that's good. But to couple it with flimsy latches that can't hold the weight is bad. Yes, I checked the fitting, and yes, I packed it correctly, but the near miss to the case pulling apart and 21kg of steel racing down to my foot (missed by 2cm) was a scary moment. Since I use a strap to keep it closed, but then again, what's the point? So good—n—bad.
Very well made and easy to pack and unpack. It's coming on our next trip.
I ordered the compact inferno starter. It came in the large carry case - defeating it's compact status. Additionally, the end plates had V's cut into them which means only one upper position for the side plates - giving a small area to place timber. I decided not to complain until this review came along. Hoping this review encourages the two issues to get sorted for future customer supplies. The design is great but the production side is poor.

The inferno starter fire pit has been the best addition to our family holidays and nights in the backyard- it's portable, easy to use, superb quality and gives a great ambience when sitting around it. Highly recommended!
The first thing we noticed about our Inferno Original was the industrial grade material, it feels lux! We have since used the fire pit several times and can confirm it's easy to assemble and dismantle, adaptable with the different settings, and perfect to cook with. We've gotten our friends onto these fire pits and they all love them. An Aussie staple.

I bought the Inferno Original to bring along on a camping trip and it was a crowd pleaser - convenient, versatile, and brilliant quality. It slow cooked our roast to absolute perfection. Cannot recommend this enough!
This fire pit was packs up so compact and is easy to store, super easy to assemble and clean after cooking steaks on it while camping with friends.

Perfect size, comes with everything I needed to cook on or just stay warm.
